A question for you. As a relatively new plotholder ( third year ) I have found the help and advice that I have been given by more experienced people invaluable. It got me thinking about the vast wealth of knowledge that must sit in the heads of all the people working the plots. This is my first visit to this website and I wondered if there would be any pages dedicated to things such as what you should be doing with your plot this month, or where it is best to get your manure and who would like to share a lorry load with me? What does well and what doesn't? Are winter onions grown from seed or sets? Should they go in now or later? If there are such pages I can't find them - please direct me someone - and if there aren't, can we start one?
I have got lots of books and I look at other allotment sites but obviously they are trying to cater for all soil types and areas so much of the information is a bit vague. As we all share the same soil type and conditions I thought there might be some mileage in the idea.
What do you think?

Advice
Monthly advice on allotment planting / cultivation is a good idea in principle but needs someone with the time to write it. Any offers?
manure
If you find a source for manure I would be willing to go halves with you. I am on plot 88 close to the road on the south side near Manchester Drive.
Onions for winter growing are best done from sets. Make sure the birds do not pull them out of the ground by taking off any dry bits or covering with a net. Onions sets are for sale now (late September).
