The smoke was billowing across Manchester Drive last weekend (8th-9th November). There were bonfires across the site and there were no problems to report. Everyone adopted a responsible attitude - which is what we told Leigh Town Council would happen - and a lot of rubbish was redued to ashes.
EVERY YEAR WE NEED TO TIDY UP OUR PLOTS AND GET RID OF ALL THE RUBBISH THAT HAS BUILT UP OVER THE BUSY SUMMER MONTHS. A CONTROLLED BONFIRE IS THE ONLY ANSWER - SO GET READY!
It helps local people and our neighbouring plot-holders if this can be done over one weekend. This year Leigh Town Council had asked us to have these bonfires over the weekend of 8th-9th November - just after Guy Fawkes Night.
Alright, so it fell out of the sky on Wednesday - but that was the first deluge after a long dry spell. During that time, most plot holders had to rely on the old-fashioned method of using a watering-can - but Leigh Town Council are concerned that some people are connecting hose-pipes to the system.
